Lightning Minerals Ltd-Troy Brice appointed managing director of Lightning Minerals
Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M, FRA:YZ1) has appointed Troy Brice as chief executive officer, effective March 23, 2026. Brice brings more than 25 years of experience across the global resources sector, spanning mining, critical minerals, and energy. He has previously served in senior executive positions, including chief executive officer and chief operating officer at ASX-listed and private international resource companies. His career has included strategic planning, mine development, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets activity.
Non-executive chairman David Vilensky welcomed Brice to the role, noting his significant experience in exploration and mining, as well as his track record in corporate leadership, project management, and capital raisings. Brice's appointment is timely, as Lightning Minerals prepares to commence phase 2 drilling and exploration activities at its wholly owned Mt Turner Gold Project in Queensland. This follows a successful phase 1 drilling program in November 2025, which identified a large-scale mineralised system extending over 12 kilometres.
Brice has extensive international experience, having worked across Australasia, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, and Europe. He has previously held senior roles with Rio Tinto, Shell Coal, and Swire Energy Services. He holds an MBA from the University of New England, a Bachelor of Professional Studies, and a Diploma in Corporate Directors. Additionally, he has completed executive education programs at Duke University and INSEAD.
In a statement, Brice expressed enthusiasm about joining Lightning Minerals, highlighting the company's exploration potential at Mt Turner and the opportunity to add shareholder value over the next 12 months. He emphasized the importance of developing an asset optimisation strategy with the board to contribute to the company's long-term success.
