Karooooo Limited (Karooooo) reported Q1 2026 financial results for its Cartrack division, showing a 19% year-over-year subscription revenue increase to ZAR1,351 million. This growth reflects continued demand for Cartrack’s enterprise mobility and operations cloud solutions, which are used by over 105,000 commercial customers globally.
The increase in subscription revenue is attributed to strong customer retention and expansion across diverse industries, including logistics, field-service-maintenance, transport, finance, mining, agriculture, and emergency services. Cartrack’s platform collects and contextualizes over 125 billion data points per month, enabling customers to make data-driven decisions and optimize operations.
Karooooo’s business model emphasizes scalability and profitability, supported by a robust balance sheet and strong cash generation. The company has historically maintained high customer retention rates, with 95% commercial customer retention across varying market conditions. This resilience is attributed to the value proposition of Cartrack’s platform, which includes cost reductions, increased productivity, and enhanced operational efficiency.
The growth in subscription revenue is also supported by strategic investments in sales and marketing, as well as continued innovation in digital solutions. Cartrack’s operating expenses increased in line with its expansion plans, with a focus on infrastructure development and customer acquisition. Despite these investments, the company maintained a healthy operating profit margin, demonstrating its ability to scale efficiently.
Looking ahead, Karooooo remains focused on leveraging its platform to drive long-term growth and deliver value to shareholders. The company’s outlook for FY 2026 includes continued expansion in key markets, including South Africa, Southeast Asia, and Europe, where demand for digital transformation solutions remains strong.
