IDX removes Semen Indonesia, Sarana Menara from LQ45 index
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has announced the removal of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR) and PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR) from the LQ45 index as part of its July 2026 major review of the IDX30, LQ45, and IDX80 indices. The changes, effective from 3 August to 30 October 2026, reflect the exchange’s periodic evaluation of index constituents based on liquidity, market capitalization, and other financial criteria.
Alongside these removals, the LQ45 added two new stocks: PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) and PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL), the latter of which rejoined the index after removal. The IDX also adjusted the composition of the IDX30 and IDX80 indices, removing six stocks and adding five new ones to maintain alignment with evolving market dynamics.
The decision to exclude state-owned enterprises and Djarum Group-backed companies underscores the IDX’s ongoing efforts to ensure the indices remain representative of the broader market while adhering to regulatory and governance standards. Investors are advised to monitor these changes for potential impacts on portfolio allocations and index-linked investment products.
