Bushnell’s new Bluetooth speaker has a touchscreen and golf caddy ambitions

Bushnell has announced a new version of its Wingman Bluetooth speaker that features a 3.5-inch color touchscreen with detailed metrics on the golf course you’re playing. It’s an upgrade to the company’s Wingman View that launched in early 2023 with a monochromatic LCD display. The Wingman HD carries forward the same $199.99 pricing as its predecessor, and is expected to launch in mid-October.
The Wingman HD uses its built-in GPS to determine what course you’re playing based on your location and provides details about distances and hazards displayed on the screen or announced through the speaker. It can also be connected to Bushnell’s mobile app, which provides additional functionality such as flyovers of the entire hole and scorekeeping.

The Wingman HD’s semi-cylindrical design, which is flattened on one side to accommodate the screen, incorporates a pair of 15-watt drivers that work alongside passive radiators to boost lower frequencies. There’s an integrated magnetic mount so you can stick it to your golf cart, and a new feature called “Dynamic Audio Adjustment” that increases the volume to compensate for the sound of your golf cart while driving to the next hole.
Indoor and outdoor EQ modes optimize the sound according to your location. You can also trigger custom sound effects, such as the polite applause of a crowd, or record your own message like “good shot!” And if you’re playing with a big crowd, up to 100 Wingman HD speakers can be connected to play simultaneously, creating some genuine Caddy Shack vibes on the greens.
