On February 5th, shampoo, a member of the prediction market platform Polymarket team, posted on social media, stating, "Kalshi is lying outright, just like when he accused us of 'double-counting.' Users can verify this themselves: open your browser's Network panel and check the fetch requests originating from /api."
Kalshi inflated the data by $1.7 billion through a vague "Esports" category. The correct figure should be the sum of all the subcategories below, approximately $63 million, which is still less than 10% of our esports transaction volume.
Additionally, Kalshi also performed duplicate statistics on the Counter-Strike marketplace, labeling it as both "CS:GO" and "CS2". (Beginner's trick.)
