NOS Reports Fourth-Quarter Net Income of EUR63.8 Million, Exceeding Estimates
NOS, Portugal’s leading telecommunications and media company, reported fourth-quarter net income of EUR63.8 million, surpassing the estimated EUR49.8 million. The results reflect mixed performance across business units, with growth in core operations offsetting declines in its cinema and audiovisual division according to the company's results.
The Telecommunications segment drove much of the positive momentum, with EBITDA rising 4.3% year-over-year, supported by margin expansion. The unit's EBITDA margin increased by 2 percentage points, reflecting operational efficiency initiatives. Similarly, the IT business contributed strongly, posting a 10.4% EBITDA increase. These gains were partially offset by the Cinema and Audiovisual segment, where EBITDA fell 21% due to a lack of box office successes during the quarter.
Consolidated EBITDA for the group grew 2.7% compared to the same period in 2022, while operational free cash flow (EBITDA AL – CAPEX) rose 10% year-over-year. CEO Miguel Almeida attributed the results to "disciplined execution" and the integration of artificial intelligence to optimize operations.
