CZ: The stablecoin industry is still in its infancy. FDUSD and USD1 belong to the 1.5 generation of stablecoins.
TL;DR
CZ believes the stablecoin industry is just beginning, with current offerings like USDT and USDC being 1.0 versions. He highlights 1.5 generation stablecoins such as FDUSD and USD1, noting USD1's potential due to its U.S. foundation.

On December 18th, Binance founder CZ stated during the year-end Q&A session:
"There is competition in the stablecoin space, but I think that's good for the industry as a whole, especially for a completely new area. Yes, the market potential is huge, and I think what we're seeing now is just stablecoin 1.0. More advanced stablecoins (likely referring to stablecoins with higher yields or more complex features) haven't been launched on a large scale yet; it's just getting started."
Currently, the largest stablecoins (such as USDT and USDC) do not offer much yield. What we are seeing now are 1.5 generation stablecoins, such as FDUSD and USD1. FDUSD's growth is limited due to high fiat currency transaction costs; while USD1 has a solid foundation in the US, and related project announcements were released today, so I think it has considerable potential.
