HungerRush, a cloud-based restaurant management and point-of-sale (POS) platform designed for pizza restaurants and fast-casual brands, has allegedly been compromised. A seller on a cybercrime forum is offering a database that purportedly contains information on over 28 million customers and associated restaurant businesses. A Security Incident Update on the HungerRush website says that it is "actively investigating and coordinating with the appropriate authorities." BleepingComputer reports that customers of restaurants using the HungerRush POS platform say they received emails from a threat actor attempting to extort the company, warning that restaurant and customer data could be exposed if HungerRush fails to respond. The company claims to work with over 16,000 restaurants, including Sbarro, Jet's Pizza, Fajita Pete's, Hungry Howie's, and many more. Full Story
