EU law enforcement agencies shut down Cryptomixer, a cryptocurrency mixing service platform.

According to Coindesk, Europol, the European Union's (EU) law enforcement agency, announced on Monday that a coordinated operation in Zurich successfully dismantled Cryptomixer, a cryptocurrency mixing service allegedly used by cybercriminals to launder illicit Bitcoin. The raid, conducted jointly by Swiss and German police with Europol from November 24th to 28th, resulted in the seizure of three servers, the Cryptomixer.io domain, over €25 million (approximately US$29 million) worth of Bitcoin, and over 12 terabytes of data. Officials stated that Cryptomixer had assisted in laundering over €1.3 billion worth of Bitcoin since 2016. Its long settlement windows and random fund distribution patterns made it an ideal tool for concealing the proceeds of crime.
