US forces downed all Iran's attack drones: Centcom

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that American forces successfully intercepted all Iranian attack drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz on June 5, 2026. The operation occurred amid heightened regional tensions, with Iran launching four one-way attack drones that posed an immediate threat to international maritime traffic in the strategically vital waterway. In response, U.S. forces shot down the drones and subsequently conducted strikes on Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island to prevent further attacks.

The incident followed earlier Iranian aggression, including the launch of seven ballistic missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain. Initial assessments indicated that six of these missiles were intercepted, while a seventh failed to reach its intended target. No U.S. personnel were reported injured, and CENTCOM refuted Iranian claims of damage to the U.S. 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain. The military emphasized its continued readiness to defend against Iranian aggression in self-defense.
