RVNL gets worth 9.7 billion rupees from East Coast Railway

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant contract valued at Rs 201.23 crore from East Coast Railway for the construction of a wagon Periodical Overhauling (POH) workshop in Kantabanji, Odisha. The project, which is expected to span 18 months, involves the development of a dedicated facility to overhaul 200 wagons, enhancing railway freight operations efficiency. The order, awarded in the normal course of business, is a domestic project and does not involve related-party transactions.

RVNL, a Government of India enterprise, specializes in rail infrastructure development, including the construction of new lines, electrification, and gauge conversion. The company emerged as the sole bidder for the project, reinforcing its position in the railway infrastructure sector. The contract is expected to bolster RVNL’s order book and contribute to its ongoing infrastructure development initiatives.

Despite the positive development, RVNL’s stock closed at Rs 342.55 on the NSE on Thursday, down 4.16% for the day. The stock is currently trading below several key moving averages, with a Relative Strength Index of 50.6, indicating a neutral position in terms of overbought or oversold conditions.
