Somerset Minerals - receives firm commitments to raise A$2 mln for Talisker drilling

Somerset Minerals Limited (ASX:SMM) has secured firm commitments to raise A$2 million through a share placement to fund its upcoming drilling program at the Talisker target within its Coppermine Project in Canada. The capital raise follows a detailed exploration update that highlighted encouraging results from infill soil sampling and surface validation of copper mineralisation. Field crews identified multiple zones of copper mineralisation, including a 2.3kg native copper nugget, supporting the potential for a significant copper system.

The Talisker target is situated approximately 4km from White Cliff Minerals' Danvers deposit, which recently reported 19.81m at 6.64% Cu. This proximity has heightened interest in the structural continuity between the two projects. The drilling campaign, set to begin in mid-July, will focus on testing the 17km-long geochemical and geophysical anomaly, with 100 drill holes permitted for the program.

In parallel, drilling at the Jura North target has extended mineralisation to greater depths, with recent results including 18.8m at 1.21% Cu from 228.2m depth. The company’s multi-target approach across Talisker, Jura, Skye, and Nor positions it to explore a structurally connected copper district with significant exploration potential. With permits secured and field crews mobilised, Somerset is advancing its exploration strategy while maintaining a disciplined capital allocation approach.
