ClearVue Technologies Ltd-CPV certifies no downside vs standard glazing

ClearVue Technologies Limited (ASX: CPV) has demonstrated through recent testing that its solar glazing system performs comparably to, and in some cases outperforms, conventional glazing solutions without introducing significant disadvantages. The company’s ClearVue Solar IGUs were evaluated at the Singapore Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) SkyLab facility, where they were compared to BCA GreenMark Platinum-certified windows. The findings indicate that the ClearVue system maintains the functional and aesthetic qualities of standard glazing while adding the benefit of on-site solar energy generation.

Thermal performance data from the test showed that ClearVue Solar IGUs maintained internal glazing surface temperatures up to 3.5°C cooler than control windows during daylight hours, reducing cooling loads and improving occupant comfort. Additionally, glare levels were significantly reduced, with 75.2% of glare deemed imperceptible compared to 45.8% for conventional double-glazed units. These results suggest that the ClearVue system does not compromise visual or thermal comfort, which are critical considerations for commercial and residential building design.

From an energy efficiency standpoint, the ClearVue Solar IGUs achieved a 22.8% reduction in cooling load, translating to a 7.5% overall energy savings when including energy generated by the system. When combined with the company’s Solar Spandrel solution, the total energy savings reached 71%. These figures highlight the system’s ability to contribute meaningfully to energy efficiency without requiring additional structural modifications or trade-offs in building performance.

The company’s technology is also scalable, with recent announcements confirming that ClearVue Solar IGUs produced on standard glazing production lines without modification. This scalability supports broader adoption and integration into both new construction and retrofit projects, aligning with global sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.

Overall, the test results indicate that ClearVue’s solar glazing system offers a viable alternative to traditional glazing without introducing notable disadvantages in terms of performance, aesthetics, or ease of integration.
