Dongseo Co - signs contract for Yongin cluster phase 1 IBL fab PC construction

Dongseo Co. has signed a contract to provide construction services for the Integrated Building Layout (IBL) of the first fabrication plant (Fab 1) at SK hynix’s Yongin Semiconductor Cluster. The contract marks a key step in the ongoing development of the cluster, which is expected to play a central role in the production of next-generation AI memory semiconductors.

The Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, located in Wonsam-myeon, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, is being developed on a 4.15 million square meter site and includes four planned state-of-the-art fabrication facilities. The first fab is scheduled for completion in May 2027 and will produce advanced DRAM products, including HBM, a key component in AI applications.

Dongseo Co.’s involvement in the IBL construction underscores the scale and complexity of the project, which includes auxiliary facilities such as water treatment systems, substation infrastructure, and business support buildings. The project is part of a broader investment of 9.4 trillion won, with construction and development activities planned through the end of 2028.

The cluster is also designed to foster collaboration with local suppliers, including a semiconductor cooperation complex for over 50 small and medium-sized enterprises. This initiative aims to strengthen Korea’s semiconductor ecosystem and enhance global competitiveness in the AI semiconductor market.
