According to ChainCatcher, citing the New York Post, US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he plans to sue the BBC for editing his January 6, 2021 speech into its investigative documentary series, Panorama.
"We could sue them sometime next week for between $1 billion and $5 billion," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday night. He added that he planned to discuss the matter with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer this weekend.
A BBC spokesperson said on Thursday: "BBC lawyers have responded to President Trump's legal team with a letter received on Sunday. BBC Director Samir Shah also sent a separate private letter to the White House, expressing his and the BBC's deep regret for the editing of Trump's speech on January 6, 2021."
