Airbus said to deliver about 350 planes in first half of 2026

Airbus delivered 81 commercial aircraft in May 2026, bringing its total deliveries for the first half of the year to 262 aircraft across 68 customers. This figure suggests that Airbus is on track to deliver approximately 350 aircraft by the end of June 2026, based on the cumulative total through May and the company’s reported monthly delivery pace. The deliveries were primarily driven by the narrowbody segment, with 73 single-aisle aircraft delivered, including 62 A320neo family aircraft and 11 A220-300s. Widebody deliveries contributed eight aircraft, including four A350s and four A330-900s.

The delivery increase was supported in part by a drawdown of accrued inventory, as estimated to be around 70% of the aircraft delivered in May. This indicates that while delivery numbers appear strong, production challenges and supply chain constraints continue to affect the manufacturer’s ability to sustain this pace. Despite these challenges, Airbus has surpassed Boeing in year-to-date deliveries, with 262 aircraft delivered compared to Boeing’s 250.

In terms of orders, Airbus reported a significant influx of 379 gross orders in May, driven largely by the A320neo family and A220 programs. This has contributed to a growing backlog of 9,247 aircraft as of May 31, 2026, providing the company with 10.6 years of production coverage based on its 2026 delivery target of 870 aircraft.
