SMA Solar shares up 6% after results

SMA Solar Technology AG (XTRA:S92) reported strong first-quarter results for fiscal year 2026, with shares rising 6% in response to the improved performance and revised guidance. The company recorded a 4.0% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The Home & Business Solutions division saw a significant 27.4% rise in sales to €61.4 million, while the Large Scale & Project Solutions division maintained sales at €279.5 million, in line with the prior year.

Operating EBITDA reached €24.6 million, up 67.3% from €14.7 million in the first quarter of 2025. Including one-time items, EBITDA rose to €26.1 million. The Managing Board has revised its full-year guidance, now expecting sales and EBITDA to fall in the upper third of previously published ranges of €1,475 million to €1,675 million and €50 million to €180 million, respectively.

The company’s order backlog stood at €1.41 billion, reflecting continued demand for large-scale projects. Management attributed the improved performance to the successful implementation of restructuring initiatives and a stabilization in demand for residential and commercial systems. However, they noted ongoing volatility due to geopolitical uncertainties and potential trade restrictions.
