Brookfield names Shiv Gupta as Australia PE chief: AFR

Brookfield Asset Management has appointed Shiv Gupta as head of its private equity operations in Australia, solidifying its focus on the Asia Pacific region. In this role, Gupta will oversee operational due diligence and financial oversight for portfolio companies, building on his existing responsibilities as a managing director in Brookfield's Private Equity Group. He currently serves as a non-executive director for La Trobe Financial and Trimco, two portfolio companies under Brookfield's management.

Gupta brings extensive experience in private equity and corporate leadership. Prior to joining Brookfield in 2019, he was a principal at KKR & Co, where he managed private equity investments in Australia. Earlier in his career, he held executive roles and began his professional journey at the Boston Consulting Group in Sydney. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney, alongside membership in the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

The appointment reflects Brookfield's strategic emphasis on expanding its private equity footprint in the Asia Pacific, leveraging Gupta's expertise in operational transformation and sector-specific insights.
