Wednesday's big stock stories: What’s likely to move the market in the next trading session

Here's what CNBC TV's producers were watching as Micron Technology suffered a 13% slide, and what's on the radar for the next session. Paychex reports before the bell on 'Squawk Box' The payroll services stock is up almost 5% in three months. Paychex is down 36% from the 52-week high, which was reached a year ago. PAYX 3M mountain Paychex in the past three months Micron reports after the bell The Boise, Idaho tech giant will report quarterly earnings after the bell. Micron is the only S & P 500 company with a headquarters in the Gem State. Did you know Idaho is the 14th largest state in the U.S. based on square miles? CNBC TV's Kristina Partsinevelos will have the numbers and instant stock reaction. The stock is up 160% in three months. That's a lot. Shares hit a high on Monday, but fell hard Tuesday. They dropped 13%. Chips across the board were beaten down. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) fell 7%. ON Semi dropped 11% on Tuesday, while Arm Holdings saw a 10% drop. Qualcomm's investor day Kristina Partsinevelos is covering this one, too. Qualcomm shares fell 8% on Tuesday. It's not a great way to go into investor day. Shares are down 21% from the May 29 high, but the stock is up 59% in three months. QCOM 3M mountain Qualcomm in the past three months The stress tests Banking reporter Leslie Picker will be watching for news throughout the day. The big banks are on a run. In June, Citigroup is up 15%. The stock is 2% from last week's high. Bank of America is up 12% this month. It hit a new high on Tuesday. JPMorgan is up more than 11% month to date. The stock is just off the high. Morgan Stanley is up 8.6% in June. The stock is down 1.9% from last week's high. Wells Fargo is up 8.5% in June. Shares are off 14% from the January high. Goldman Sachs is up 6.7% in June. It's down 2.7% from last week's high. The Dow Industrials Alphabet goes into the Dow 30 starting Monday . Verizon will come out. S & P Global said in a written statement: "Adding Alphabet will broaden and strengthen the DJIA's exposure to these dynamic areas of the U.S. economy." Shares of Alphabet are down 15% from their May high. The stock is up almost 110% in a year. Verizon is down 9.5% from the March high. Shares are up about 10% in a year. The Dow is up 21% in a year and down 1.2% from last week's high. GOOGL 1Y mountain Alphabet in the past 12 months S & P Tech The sector saw a big drop Tuesday, down about 3.7%. It is down 8.75% from the June 2 high. " Morning Call " picks up the tech story at 5 a.m. ET.
