Formycon AG and OneSource Specialty Pharma announce strategic manufacturing partnership for biosimilars

Formycon AG (FSE: FYB) has announced a strategic manufacturing partnership with OneSource Specialty Pharma for the global production of biosimilars. This collaboration is expected to enhance Formycon’s capacity to scale its biosimilar development platform and support its expanding pipeline of follow-on biopharmaceutical products. Under the terms of the partnership, OneSource will provide manufacturing capabilities, while Formycon will retain responsibility for development and regulatory submissions.

The partnership aligns with Formycon’s strategy of leveraging specialized manufacturing partners to optimize cost efficiency and accelerate time-to-market for its biosimilars. Formycon currently markets two biosimilars—FYB201/ranibizumab and FYB202/ustekinumab—and has another, FYB203/aflibercept, approved by the FDA, EMA, and MHRA. The company is also advancing four additional candidates, including FYB206/pembrolizumab, which is nearing the end of clinical development phase.

This collaboration with OneSource underscores the growing importance of strategic alliances in the biosimilar sector, where complex development timelines and high capital requirements necessitate strong industry partnerships. Formycon’s hybrid business model—combining in-house R&D with external commercialization and manufacturing partners—has enabled the company to maintain a lean structure while expanding its global footprint.
