According to Foresight News , Flow tweeted that its Community Governance Committee has completed the recovery of counterfeit FLOW tokens that were not liquidated in the CEX. These tokens are currently segregated on-chain and under restricted storage, awaiting destruction. The permanent destruction of the counterfeit tokens is scheduled to take place on January 30, 2026. Furthermore, the Foundation has scheduled the removal of any additional access privileges granted to the Community Governance Committee for the recovery operation today.
According to a previous report by Foresight News , Folw released a retrospective report on the attack, stating that attackers exploited a vulnerability in the Flow network to forge tokens and steal approximately $3.9 million through cross-chain transactions. The attack did not access or disclose any existing user balances. While the attack copied assets, it did not affect legitimately held assets; the vast majority of the forged assets were stored on-chain or frozen by exchange partners before being liquidated.
