India cuts 19kg commercial LPG cylinder price by INR183.50: ANI
India has reduced the price of 19kg commercial LPG cylinders by INR183.50, offering some relief to businesses reliant on the fuel for operations such as restaurants, hotels, and food vendors. The adjustment, effective immediately, brings commercial cylinder in New Delhi to INR3,071.50, according to reports. This follows a series of price fluctuations in recent months, including significant increase in March and a partial reduction in April.
The latest cut comes amid ongoing global energy market volatility, driven by geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions. While the reduction is expected to ease operational costs for commercial users, concerns remain about the potential impact on pricing structures and consumer costs in the hospitality sector.
Separately, domestic LPG prices have remained unchanged, with no adjustments made to the subsidized rates for household consumers. The government has also introduced new rules for domestic LPG distribution to curb hoarding and black marketing. These changes include extended minimum order intervals and stricter verification processes for cylinder bookings.
The move reflects the Indian government’s attempt to balance market dynamics with economic stability, particularly as businesses continue to navigate rising input costs and inflationary pressures.
