MIIT: Jan-Apr 2026 export delivery value of large-scale electronic information manufacturing up 5.4% YoY

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reported that the export delivery value increased by 5.4 percent year-on-year in the first four months of 2026. This growth reflects continued demand for Chinese-manufactured electronics in global markets, despite ongoing economic uncertainties and supply chain challenges.

The rise in export delivery value aligns with broader trends in China’s manufacturing sector, which has maintained a strong position in global supply chains. In the same period, industrial output grew by 5.6 percent year-on-year, indicating a resilient manufacturing base. The electronics manufacturing subsector, in particular, has benefited from global demand for consumer electronics, telecommunications equipment, and other high-tech products.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the manufacturing sector accounted for 24.7 percent of China’s GDP in 2025, underscoring its critical role in the national economy. The electronics manufacturing industry, as a key component of this sector, continues to attract foreign direct investment and government support through tax incentives and infrastructure development.

The growth in electronic information manufacturing exports also highlights the sector’s adaptability to shifting trade dynamics. The United States, for example, has seen contraction in its manufacturing industry due to trade policy uncertainty and tariffs, while China’s electronics manufacturers have maintained a competitive edge through efficient production and supply chain integration.

Looking ahead, the expansion of data center infrastructure and the demand for semiconductors are expected to further drive investment and growth in the electronics manufacturing industry. These factors, combined with supportive policies and technological advancements, position China’s electronics manufacturing sector for continued expansion in the coming year.
