Mount Royal University in Canada says it's investigating a cyberattack that disrupted its systems on Jun. 17. "When the issue was identified, the university took prompt steps to contain the threat and protect its systems," the university wrote in a post on a separate page from its main website, which was still down as of Jun. 19. "We have retained external cyber security experts to assist with the response and investigation, and we are following our established incident response protocols." Along with its main website being disrupted, the university's online service MyMRU, on-campus internet access, telephone services and other services have been affected. Calgary police confirmed they are investigating the cyberattack. MRU said it cannot comment further while that investigation is underway. The university has an enrollment of around 16,000 students.
