India's engineering goods exports reached $12.31 billion in April 2026, reflecting a 24.48% year-on-year increase, according to the latest available data. This growth underscores the sector's resilience amid evolving global trade dynamics. Despite a decline in shipments to key markets such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the overall export performance remained robust, driven by strategic export promotion initiatives.
The engineering goods sector has consistently demonstrated its ability to adapt to market fluctuations. At a joint press conference in Goa, Shri Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary of the Department of Commerce, emphasized trade agreements and market access efforts in sustaining this momentum. Over the past 12 years, India's engineering goods exports have reached a record $122.43 billion, highlighting the sector's long-term growth trajectory and its critical role in the country's export economy.
