Standard Chartered - appoints Tanate Phutrakul as independent non-executive director effective 1 July 2026
Standard Chartered PLC has announced the appointment of Tanate Phutrakul as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 July 2026. This addition to the Board is part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its governance structure and support its strategic objectives.
Tanate Phutrakul brings extensive experience in the financial services sector, having held senior leadership roles across Asia and the United Kingdom. His appointment follows recent leadership changes, including Manus Costello appointment, subject to regulatory approval. Costello, who joined the bank in April 2024 as Global Head of Investor Relations, has been shaping the Group’s strategic and financial direction.
The Board also announced Tanuj Kapilashrami appointment, effective immediately, to support the Group’s transformation and growth agenda. These leadership changes reflect Standard Chartered’s commitment to maintaining a strong and dynamic executive team as it advances its medium-term financial objectives.
