Seacon: acquisition of two vessels

On June 28, 2026, Seacon Shipping Group Holdings completed the sale of the 2023-built bulk carrier Seacon Hamburg to Marshall Islands-registered Belle Shipping for $37.5 million, as previously announced. The vessel, acquired by Seacon Hamburg through a purchase option under a bareboat charter, was delivered on schedule. The transaction is expected to generate a gain of approximately $13.4 million for Seacon, based on the vessel’s estimated net asset value of $23.3 million at the time of delivery. The company noted that the vessel contributed audited net profits of $638,500 in 2024 and $840,000 in 2025.

In a separate transaction, Seacon Shipping acquired seven small bulk carriers from Baltic Shipping in January 2025 for a total of 63.7 million euros. The vessels, with a gross tonnage of 2,518 tons each, were delivered between April 1 and June 1, 2025. Five were built in 2023, one in 2022, and one in 2024. The acquisition aligns with Seacon’s strategy to optimize its fleet by replacing older vessels with newer, more efficient ones. The company emphasized that expanding its controlled fleet enhances its capacity to meet freight demand and improve its competitive position in the shipping industry.
