Altitude Minerals Ltd: drilling commenced at Byrock Copper Gold Project

Altitude Minerals Ltd (ASX: ATT) has commenced drilling at its Byrock Copper Gold Project in New South Wales, as part of a 2,300m reverse circulation (RC) program aimed at testing the highest-priority pipe targets, including P38, P01, P02, and T47. The drilling permits were issued, and the rig was contracted following extensive preparatory work, including infill gravity surveys and passive seismic data collection over the Pipes and T55 targets.

The Byrock Project is situated in the northern extension of the Macquarie Arc, a geological region known for hosting world-class copper-gold deposits such as Cadia and Northparkes. The project covers 2,265 sq km and is located near the Cobar Mining District, one of Australia’s most productive copper regions.

Recent exploration activities have identified a large untested exploration space where the Macquarie Arc is interpreted to extend under shallow cover. Historical drilling by CRA Exploration in 1978 intersected Cu-Au fertile intrusive rock, suggesting the potential for porphyry-style mineralisation.

The drilling program is expected to provide further clarity on the geological model and the potential for large-scale copper-gold deposits. Results from the air-core drilling conducted earlier in the year have already returned positive assays, supporting the project’s exploration potential. With logistics now in place, the focus is on generating meaningful drill results that could drive further exploration and development decisions.
