Pirelli and C. S.p.A - appoints Marco Tronchetti Provera as executive chairman

Marco Tronchetti Provera, the long-serving leader of Pirelli and C. S.p.A., has been appointed as Executive Vice Chairman of the company, following his transition from CEO. Born in 1948, Provera holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Bocconi University of Milan and has been shaping Pirelli's strategic direction. His leadership has spanned over three decades, including a pivotal role in the 2015 acquisition of Pirelli by ChemChina, where he successfully negotiated to retain his position as CEO.

Provera’s tenure has been marked by significant corporate developments, including the restructuring of Pirelli’s operations and the expansion of its global footprint. He has also held leadership roles in Italian corporations, including Telecom Italia, Mediobanca, and RCS MediaGroup. In addition, he serves as chairman of Marco Tronchetti Provera & C. S.p.A., a holding company that indirectly owns a 26.2% stake in Pirelli.

Beyond his corporate roles, Provera is actively involved in various business and cultural institutions, including the Bocconi University and Teatro alla Scala. His continued involvement in Pirelli as Executive Vice Chairman underscores his enduring influence in the company’s governance and strategic direction.
